Getty Villa
“J. Paul Getty wanted visitors to experience Greek and Roman art in a setting that would bring the objects to life.”
The Getty Villa is modeled after a grand country residence from Pompeii, the city destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79. Architecturally, the museum’s layout and details fully immerse visitors similar to that of Missions. Colors, pillar motifs, ceiling art, stone roads—architecture alone, there’s lot to see.
