Going to a museum can be fun and even better will it be knowing all the visiting information so as to not have any unwanted surprises. Here’s a list of things to know when planning a museum visit:

  1. Admission - admission prices for museums can vary. Admission could be $10, $45, pay-what-you-can, or even free! Some museums that have an admission fee could have discounts or free admission for certain persons such as military, student, local, etc.

  2. Visiting Hours - museums can also have varying visiting hours. Some could be open every day of the week while other are only open during the weekend. Always check visiting hours to know which day to go and what time would be best to arrive.

  3. Parking - knowing the parking situation can be very beneficial to planning a trip as some museums could have free parking lots, parking fees, or even no parking at all!

  4. Exhibits - of course, know what you’re going to see! It’s always great to have some context of what kind of collection a museum will have. It’s also good to know which temporary exhibits are on display or upcoming—a trip can be saved for another date.
